Fast Food Chains Fail in the United States USA

A national survey issued over the weekend found that hamburgers, fried chicken and tacos, fast food chains are no longer popular favorite among U.S. consumers, who increasingly demand better quality for their money .

McDonald's, Burger King, KFC and Taco Bell tops the list of chains with the worst score in the first ranking of major fast food companies compiled by the Consumer Reports organization.

Only 11% of customers surveyed gave ratings of "excellent" at Burger King, KFC, McDonald's and Taco Bell and between 15 and 19% of respondents who ate one of those chains said the food was fair, poor or very poor.

"Chains like McDonald's and Taco Bell presume to offer a high value product at low prices, but consumers do not necessarily think they offer much in exchange for a ticket," said Tod Marks, senior editor senior project, Consumer Reports said in a statement .

The survey is based on responses from 36,733 subscribers to Consumer Reports publication that made over 98,000 visits to 53 fast food chains.

Other major chains that were rated relatively low by consumers were Arby's, Quiznos, Domino's and Pizza Hut.

While 54% of respondents reported lower prices as a "reason" to choose a fast food restaurant in particular, however only 19% reported being satisfied with product quality relative to price.
