What they have in common Fanta and the Nazis?

What is the origin of the soft drink Fanta and what to do with the Nazis? The answer is found in the book 'Now is the smart one who knows everything' writer and blogger Alfred Lopez, which reveals the story of 366 curiosities, as the origin of this popular drink.

According to Lopez, during the Second World War the Germans were blocked by the allied forces , prompting Coca-Cola could not receive the syrup needed to produce its famous soft drink.

Max Keith, a director of the company, used his ingenuity to find a new product that succeed in the marketplace, and did not want to mimic their own gaseous facing the end of the blockade.

Thus, Keith was a drink based on fruit juices and chose orange for flavor. Once given the order, there was only the last step: to name it.

To do this, the company organized a competition among all employees to seek a successful conclusion.   One of them then proposed to call it 'Fantasia' (fantasie in German), a term that Joe Knipp, a factory worker, was born decided to shorten and Fanta.
