These are the 10 keys to follow in your diet to reduce cancer risks

Today the progress of science has improved our quality of life. However, there is no cure for various diseases. Entre ellas el cáncer . Including cancer . That's why scientists have proposed to study the relationship between our diet and the risk of developing this disease.

Thus, researchers have found that some foods may have a protective role against cancer, such as fruits and vegetables . "According to a report to be presented in Santiago de Chile, the last Latin American Congress of Nutrition, 35% of overall cancer deaths can be attributed to diet and 90% of the preventive effects in colorectal cancer "said the Argentine newspaper.

Here, the ten keys to food as an ally to reduce the likelihood of tumors.

AVOID FATS

Only in Latin America over 124,000 people have developed the disease in just one year as reported by the last congress of the European Society of Oncology, still a major cause overweight caused by excessive consumption of fats

"Obesity-related metabolic disorders produces hormones involved in the development of several types of cancer, including stomach, esophagus and breast cancer," says José Lastiri, an oncologist at Hospital Italiano and secretary of the Argentina Association of Clinical Oncology.

LOWER THE CONSUMPTION OF SUGAR

The gynecologist and pathologist Horacio Limongelli, coordinator of the Cancer Education Program recommends prefer natural sugars (like fruit), limiting soft drinks and sweet desserts or eating only twice a week, and in small portions. According to the doctor, although refined sugars are not directly related to the risk of cancer if they are to the origin of obesity.

Say no to red meat

Limongelli also suggests incorporating more fish to our diet, rich source of omega 3 and 9 and ignore red meat, as well as refined sugar excessive drinking is harmful to our health. Also advised not to cook too and remove the fat.

On the other hand, Marcela Leal, director of the career of Nutrition, Maimonides University, indicates that the recommendation is to eat fish three times a week and only one beef, if possible baked or boiled.

LEARN TO COOK YOUR FOOD

When foods are cooked at high temperatures over an open flame, such as grilling or charcoal grill, amending the meat and molecules are generated and aromatic hydrocarbons which are carcinogenic. However, Dr. Lastiri clarifies that this does not mean it is forbidden to eat a roast from time to time, but clarifies that it is preferable to opt for restraint and avoid overcooked meat and that is harmful to our body.

BEWARE OF PROCESSED FOODS

The ham, smoked bacon and any food that you use for development and conservation preservatives are prohibited. This is because these products are often add nitrites and nitrates that are contaminants, in addition to causing obesity. They are also risky for his method of cooking. "Its use must be occasional, sporadic meetings or situations," says nutritionist Leal.

ALCOHOL AWAY

According to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), alcohol increases the risk of oral cancer, larynx, esophagus, chest, breast, colon and liver. While no one knows exactly why, scientists believe it is due to exposure to chemicals that occur when alcohol is metabolized in the body. The ASCO recommends limiting consumption to one drink per day for women and two for men. Measures are given as an indication of beer 355 cm3, 150 cm3 45cm3 wine or liquor.

EAT MORE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Maria Victoria Caceres, head of Clinical Nutrition Olivos, explains that "in the body we have millions of molecules of oxygen. At that become unstable and dangerous are called free radicals, and even attacked their chromosomes. When this happens, the cells can begin to multiply out of control and that is how cancer starts. The plants are capable of producing molecular compounds that act as shields to protect these wild oxygen molecules: are antioxidants. "

Leal added that GM foods "are the main dietary strategy to reduce the risk of cancer." Some of the best known are those that contain high doses of beta-carotene, like carrots and lycopene, found in tomatoes.

In addition, plants contain phytochemicals, substances that are protective. The cruciferous vegetables, like broccoli and cauliflower and allium family among which are the garlic and onion have compounds that generate different benefits in the body with the same outcome, reduce the risk of cancer. All experts agree: we must incorporate into the diet, five portions a day of fruits and vegetables of different colors.

INCREASE YOUR FIBRE INTAKE

"The high consumption decreases the risk of colorectal cancer because it reduces the amount of time that wastes, which are often carcinogens, travel through the colon," says Caceres. It was also noted that high-fiber foods to reduce levels of estrogen and testosterone, with protective effects of breast and colon cancers. You can include in your diet on fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes.

PREFER low-fat dairy

Milk is basic to our daily diet. However, says Dr. Lastriti, you should prefer to avoid adding fat-fat in our diet. "In no way should be stopping," he adds. Leal also adds that "their nutrients, like calcium and vitamin D, are effective against colorectal cancer."

NOT MUCH VALUE TO GIVE vitamin supplements

Lastiri said that their contribution is not The specialist advice that stresses may be the synthesis of all recommendations: "It is not necessary to become a vegan but, as elsewhere, to prevent excesses. We must change the habits and eating a balanced diet. "

Eat Healthy and Balanced Helps Us Live Longer

Before, eat anything and was synonymous with plenty of good food . However, over time and after a series of medical studies today it is advisable to restrict our consumption. Especially if you're going through the barrier of 50 years.

The Spanish Néstor Luján, twentieth-century food writer, said that health is the silence of the organs, "one does not realize that you have liver until the protest, and over the years, the bodies left a voice disturbing frequency. "

NO to the excesses

When you're young you have more appetite and usually eat everything at your fingertips. However, the Spanish journalist Julio Camba stated in his book "The house of Lucullus, or the art of eating" that eating well and taste, is something that can not always do.

"When you have appetite and stomach to eat anything often lack enough money to do so, whereas when one is older and has a better economic position, often lack the appetite of young people," Camba said.

The same is true of alcohol. The comedian Carlos Romeu said the following about it: "at thirty had hangovers, now, convalescence." Right.

And is that as people get older our body no longer works as fast as before. That is why doctors often recommend to people of this age to follow a diet low in fat and limit your portions of food.

It is therefore advisable to leave little by little, to commit excesses, as they say "the excesses of youth in old age are paid" .Thus, the power to achieve good nutrition is in the middle: restraint and, occasionally, a nice tribute.

Meet The piscafe a drink to combat the cold

The piscafé: a drink to combat the cold

The coffee and spirits reveal a special attraction during the winter season. The Irish coffee is the inspiration for the piscafé, hot drink that bears the touch of our fine spirits flag.
One raw winter night in 1942, a chef named Joseph Sheridan created for American travelers a chilly popular Irish coffee today. In Foynes Airbase (center of Ireland, where he arrived by seaplane flights exclusive connecting America and Europe), the combination of sugar, coffee and whiskey Irish fell very well and became a classic drink in this scale, where once Stanton Delaplane came to stop, an American travel writer (winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1942) decided to spread it across the Atlantic.

The story goes that the night of November 10, 1952, Jack Koeppler, owner of the cafe-restaurant Buena Vista (San Francisco, California), accepted the challenge of Delaplane to help recreate the coffee with whiskey he took in the Irish port. Two aspects were difficult to imitate: the flavor and the cream, which did not come to float as in the original preparation.

Enthusiastic about his search, Koeppler traveled to Ireland in search of the perfect whiskey, and that allowed to solve the first problem was missing the second. The friends had consulted with the then mayor of San Francisco, a dairy owner, who discovered that if the cream was aged for 48 hours and beaten up to the required consistency, the foam float "like a swan on the delicate nectar of Jack and Stan. " Así llegaron a replicar la bebida perfecta, que se hizo famosa en todo el mundo. Thus they came to replicate the perfect beverage, which became famous worldwide.
Since then, the formula and followed the recipe spread official International Bartenders Association (IBA), two parts whiskey, four of coffee, one and a half of cream and a teaspoon of brown sugar.

PERUVIAN VERSION
Hans Pundsack , a German 26 years ago came to the province of Oxapampa (Pasco) and foresaw the potential of Peruvian coffee as a product of special category (or origin, in this case, Villa Rica and surrounding areas), includes a recipe for Irish Coffee on the website of Hansa, the special Arabic coffee brand (organic wash), which he oversees and toast for 16 years.
Inspired by this famous hot drink, and barista Pundsack José Parinango decided to prepare a formula that would combine their special input flagship product with more representative of our country: the pisco .

They made the test of fire and presented to those attending the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OEA in Spanish), held in Lima in June, the Peruvian alternative piscafé in the mixture of 165 ml of coffee and an American pisco ounce breaks proved to be very well received.

"The difference is that the first Irish coffee mix 12 grams of sugar per one-half ounces of whiskey, then add the add the coffee," explains Parinango, who confesses that at this international summit served thousands of cups of piscafé, an option recommended to warm the body in these days of strong winter that we have had in Lima.

How to recognize a good coffee?
The barista José Pisango recognize a good coffee tasting a short (so-called Italian espresso, 45 ml). It should be noted for its good aroma, body, fine acidity and flavor. The Coffee come in cup warm and have a layer of cream on top (if not see it, is the right to claim).
