Iran: chickens are forbidden in Television
Iran police recommended that broadcasters to refrain from broadcasting programs and movies where it is consumed chicken, a food that has been out of reach of most Iranians, affected by a fierce inflation.
"Movies are a window on society. After seeing films about the lives of the rich, some people can grab a knife and assert their rights. Television should not be a showcase for what is not accessible to citizens "said Esmail Ahmadi-Moghaddam, Chief of Police of Iran.
This warning is part of a regime's concern for the tensions that generate high inflation and economic problems caused by international sanctions, among which include boycotts of the European Union by oil, the key to Iran's finances. Last week, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad Hosseini, warned the media to avoid the negative reports on the economic impact of sanctions.
Chicken is the symbol of the hardships faced by people of Iran. In recent weeks, a kilo has risen to 70,000 rials (about $ 5.63), three times more than it did last year. Similar increases have been red meat, vegetables and fruits.
This has created long lines at state distribution centers for food, where the chicken is sold in small quantities, in exchange for FS-delivered by the Government.
